light - rainPosted by Margie (Auckland, New Zealand) on 5 May 2008 in Abstract & Conceptual and Portfolio. It rained ferociously last night. I stood on my porch in the dark and waited for passing cars, clicked the shutter, held my breath and tried to stay as still as I could. I'm a beginner at this photography thing. Any hints, tips, constructive criticism or comments are welcome and appreciated.

Zorilla from Kew, United KingdomGreat shot - here's what happened when I tried exactly the same thing... http://signs-of-life.aminus3.com/image/2008-01-22.html 5 May 2008 10:21am @Zorilla: Haha! Your shot has a lot more...um...emotion!? Observing from Chester, United KingdomAnd it worked.... it's a brilliant take, from something simple into abstract Art. Well done. 5 May 2008 10:57am Cheryl from Boerne, United Stateswow, I can't believe you didn't use a tripod! nice trails!! 5 May 2008 11:45am Henry from Boston, United StatesThis works because you didn't use a tripod. The darker elements have a nice ghosting that adds intrigue to the image. You may want to try this method again with a definite subject in the image I think that would probably be a great shot. Nice one Margo. 5 May 2008 12:33pm akarui from Kagoshima, JapanVery good considering that the exposure is 2 seconds without a tripod... I like the lightening on the wet road. 5 May 2008 1:08pm Anthony from Bielefeld, GermanyWhat no tripod, get one quick...Who knows what you can produce then !!! 5 May 2008 1:23pm @Anthony: :) Twelvebit from Victoria, United StatesYou're more steady than I.
