...not forgetting the crystal, china and silver! I was invited to Mother's day brunch at my friend's house. We both have children (grown up) living far from home so it was a kind of communal commiseration consumption brunch! :) Happy Mother's Day to all the Aminus3 mothers.
I'm a beginner at this photography thing. Any hints, tips, constructive criticism or comments are welcome and appreciated.

Why is Mothers Day celebrated on a different day in the UK? I like the warm glow on this photo.

@Observing: Yes it is a little weird, for once we follow America which is unusual for us colonials. :)

How lucky that you have such a thoughtful friend! Has she provided any of your other photo objects? She must have an artistic soul.

@MaryB: Thank you for the nice compliment Mary - it was a treat!
This photo is a good lesson. You sent one photo from the same event to my wife on mother's day. While that photo shows more, this photo says more. This photo speaks of the care and intimacy. The other photo just shows components. Like the difference between a recipe for gourmet food and the dish itself. You see? Great job here. I like the warm tones and the selective focus.

Hey, this is really good. Shooting at eye level with the subject gives you a more personal connection even though they are objects. I really like this!
