António Pires from Lisbon, PortugalThis b&w image with dark tonalities gives the idea of a non-stress morning. The papers are still asleep. 16 Jun 2008 9:53am @António Pires: Yes, that's my idea of a nice start to the day. Thanks for the comment Antonio! Observing from Chester, United KingdomRealistic abstract image, and lovely grayscale tone. 16 Jun 2008 10:50am Anthony Lambert from GermanyNice work.Realy good B+W.The image looks a little dark though(that might be my screen though) 16 Jun 2008 2:33pm MadScientist from Düsseldorf, GermanyMaybe a little bit too dark but nonetheless a great shot with perfect dof! 16 Jun 2008 3:46pm Florence from Paris, FranceThat's a nice subject and a great still-life but it could have been better with more light and contrast. I'm sure you can do it ! :-) 16 Jun 2008 4:52pm standley from brou-sur-chantereine, FranceGreat suggestive shot. The tonality is perfect! 16 Jun 2008 9:24pm Ron from Saint Louis, United StatesA little more contrast and this would sing! Love the concept ... just wish I could see more of the glasses. 16 Jun 2008 10:02pm Kelela from Upland, United StatesNiiiice! You just made me smile because Sunday mornings, reading the newspaper is one of my most favorite things ever! I love the crisp clarity of the newspaper and the darkness tells me that you are an early riser and the lights haven't come on yet; lol. This shot works for me! 16 Jun 2008 10:23pm Luis A. De Jesus R. from Mexico City, MexicoI like this very much. Nice shallow depth of field blends nicely with the BW. 17 Jun 2008 1:49am dj.tigersprout from San Bruno, United Statesa very solemn photo... but beautiful and works well in b/w. 17 Jun 2008 2:17am Betty from New Jersey, United StatesAll it needs is the coffee! :-) Wonderful shot, says Sunday morning exactly! Well done. 17 Jun 2008 9:33am yiannis krikis from thessaloniki, Greeceexcellent image - I like the mood and the framing 18 Jun 2008 3:11pm Pied Crow from Nairobi, KenyaI love the eyeglasses, it gives a sense that someone has just that moment put them down and gone away...maybe to get a cup of coffee? but I agree a bit more light and contrast would help, just not so much that the softness is lost. 18 Jun 2008 6:52pm Ted from South Wales, United KingdomI like this alot...you have given this some thought too. Perhaps a little dark and had you allowed for more of a view of the newsprint it would have drawn the eye in further. Nice idea & shot though. 18 Jun 2008 9:47pm Ronnie 2¢ from London, United KingdomThis so nostalgic . . must be ten years since I bought a newspaper . . at one time, my Sunday was centered around them. How things change. 23 Jun 2008 1:57pm Twelvebit from Victoria, United StatesI should say, since you have comments on this and another image about them being "too dark," that "too dark" is only a flaw if it is unintended. Personally, I find a bias among a lot of people towards photographs with even lighting and detail in the shadows. I don't subscribe to the notion that there are rules for photos that require them to look a certain way. What you choose to reveal is a matter of taste. 24 Jun 2008 4:59am |
