Rangitoto

Auckland has around 50 volcanoes. Rangitoto is the largest and most recently formed, emerging from the sea about 600 years ago.

I'm a beginner at this photography thing. Any hints, tips, constructive criticism or comments are welcome and appreciated.

@MadScientist: Well actually it was pretty busy! Or maybe I should say "busy for New Zealand". It was taken at an inner city/suburban beach and this particular day was beautiful after a long period of rain and wind. So everybody was out enjoying the sun. I had to wait a little while to get this shot.

Nicely framed shot, it looks like paradise. Are there any active volcanoes...?

@Observing: Well, according to GeoNet (which monitors geological activity in NZ) "Auckland’s existing volcanoes are unlikely to become active again, but the Auckland Volcanic Field itself is young and still active."
So I guess that means a new one could pop up somewhere...

An idyllic scene captured so beautifully.

Love the framing with those branches, and the composition is superb. I'd love to be walking on that beach right now.
