Traditional composition never fails with shots like this . . I guess that's why it has become traditional! What a great escape the sea always feels to be.

I think this is a fine shot. It is well composed and there are several levels of distance that make it interesting. As I look now, I see that it may have been a "happy accident" because it was shot a while back (Before your D80). It's a great shot. Too often in the Aminus blogs people just want to be overwhelmed with overly rich and sometimes unrealistic color and there is often the lure to pander to them to get comments. I'm not judging because I'm not wholly guiltless of that either. I just find this a great natural and realistic shot, yet it gets only several comments whereas the shot on your next post (which I believe is similar to other shots you've done?) gets a plethora of comments. Perhaps it is indicative of a problem in the digital age. One in which everything tends to be idealized instead of honest. Again, I am not guiltless, but it is kind of a little sad, no?

One of my favourites on Aminus3 EVER...and here I came upon your name by mistake, for some reason it saved in my bookmarks and I thought who's Margie? so I checked in your portfolio and fell in love...sometimes the Universe will send a wink or two
