I liked the contrast of the colours of the bush against the pristine whiteness of the snow.
Any hints, tips, constructive criticism or comments are welcome and appreciated.

@jamesy: This was at the visitor centre at Dawson Falls in Taranaki. And yes, I've been a bit repetitive with my locations lately. New locations soon, I promise! Thanks for the comment!
Well seen. Like the contrast between the colored bush and the white snow. Well done

@Rui: Thanks Rui
Very interesting to see masses of snow in your part of the world. May I ask how heavy this blanket of snow was? (We didn't have much snow for years.)

@MadScientist: It was quite a surprise to us too! It wasn't very heavy, maybe 6 inches or so...but snowing quite heavily just before this shot was taken. Thanks for the comment.
What a superb shot, we haven't had snow like that for years.

@Observing: Thanks Mike. We never get snow like this in Auckland, it was quite a novelty for me.
Is this recent snow? It must be from those beautiful highlands that appeared in the Lord of the Rings. God, every time I see the trilogy I can't help but overwhelmed with the fantastic scenery of your country.
A small suggestion, next time try spot metering to get some detail from the snow. I think I even heard flash can help in such harsh settings for photography. I'm anxious to try this out myself, but NO SNOW in Mexico City and I have no interest in approaching active volcanoes for such photos. Cheers!
P.S. Makes me miss my home town's --New York-- winter snow.

@Luis A. De Jesus R.: Hi Luis, this was taken in August in Taranaki - which is quite a few hours south from where I live. We never get snow in Auckland. Yes, the scenery is fantastic (and very diverse!) here, Peter Jackson and crew did a fantastic job photographing it in the LOTR series. Thanks for the tips on metering - I have much to learn about many aspects of photography. As for volcanoes...we've got lots of those too - I think the Auckland area alone has about 50...though thankfully, none active at the moment!
Lots of snow! Nice contrast!

@Veronelle: And here it's starting to warm up. It's a topsy turvy world on Am3 sometimes.
What a contrast of the rich green shrubs against the snow!
