@Ronnie 2¢: Hi Ronnie, yes these are wild lupins. They grow wild all over the place in NZ but in the South Island (where this was taken) there's a wonderful variety of colours. This shot was taken on the same day and in the same area as "Impossibly blue" and also "Majestic". The area is near Queenstown in Central Otago - in the South Island - a truly spectacular place. I'm glad this bought back fond memories for you. Thanks for the comment. :)
The terrain is terrific. Do you live in a rural area or is this something within everyone's reach no matter where on the island? Heart-warming image.

@Luis A. De Jesus R.: No, I live in Auckland, New Zealand's largest city, in the North Island - this was taken near the bottom of the South Island, an area which has spectacular scenery of a different kind to the North.
However! Having said that - it's really doesn't take long to get out of the city and in a pretty short time I could be on a deserted beach, or a farm, or walking in the quiet of the native bush, or on an island in the gulf...

Nice pic, but are you sure that it is lupins? For me it is gentians, but I am not a specialist
